Mutor Spreading the promotion net for some upcoming shows and projects I am working on. Currently in the plans, an all live techno show for 1/30/10 on hardware (no laptop, yay!).
Mutor When they go that way, I go this way. After using a computer based live pa setup since 2000 or so, I'm taking up the (mostly) analog gear. I saved my pennies and here's the heart of the new setup.

Johannes Kreidler released his Pd-tutorial. He wrote the tutorial in the last years with the help of a grant by the Music University of Freiburg / Germany, is now online, in english and in german. It is also available as a book (paperback) at Wolke Publishing House.

In the good news department, I have recently moved closer to work. This means less commute, and more time for music. Which means new Mutor goodness. I've also upgraded the versions of Logic and Max/MSP to something current, and working on some new material that is a cross between original recipe Mutor sounds and the... multimedia collaborative BiPole work I did with Mike Migurski in the early 00's. Just added a couple more tunes to the player here, including some Facebook exclusive prerelease tracks from a forthcoming full length Mutor album.
The tracks are all sorts of different sounds, so I'll break it down a bit:
Coiled Up - Slow Catwalk Tech House
- made using MacBook & LogicExpress, no additional gear or softwa...re
RedDisk - Spazzy Electro
- mostly made on the Korg ER-1 drum machine, one of the most incredible pieces of gear to come out in the last 15 years
OpenMindInsertFoot - Glitchy Minimal
- completely done in Cycling 74's Max/MSP coding environment with a weird Jim Morrison interview sample thrown in for good measure
Fired - NextSkool Breaks
- an attempt to get away from some more popular breaks cliches while still holding on to the ones I love. also, fun with a tacky diva sound bite.
ThirdTwin - Fast Minimal
- I wrote this one to sorta peg that feeling of falling asleep while on BART. Gets sleepy while getting louder.

I've been working with some new and old toys/tools to get some new material out there so people remember I make my own music. I've already got one netlabel release pretty much done deal with the label (full length album even!) and another in the works...
