Why is this open only to permanent residents or citizens of the U.S.? This is only noted in the fine print - and in working with international students here in the U.S. (who do community service), I see no reason why they should be excluded. At very least, the contest description should be worded to show that this is for AMERICAN students who go outside of the U.S., and that Student Diplomats here in the U.S. are specifically disqualified.

Thank you for your comment, Dawn. Unfortunately, we are not able to expand the eligibility for this year's contest because it is already underway, but NAFSA and Abroad View will certainly consider expanding the contest to include international students studying here in the U.S. in future years.
