If the SBC's word is "NOT" to be heeded, what about SBC's instructions on how to vote?
My academics, my spirituality, my felt calling didn’t matter anymore. The only thing that mattered to the SBC was my gender.
She prayed for me, but made it clear that I would never be a Southern Baptist missionary.
During the time that ...I was in the meeting with the candidate consultant, a local soup kitchen left a message on my answering machine. They wanted me to come preach and pray with the people who came for lunch on Fridays -- men included.
Apparently, the Holy Spirit decided to have the last word that day -- and God’s word is still more important to heed than the SBC’s.

NARAL Pro-Choice America First, anti-choice groups targeted Atlanta with billboards that read “Black Children are an Endangered Species.” Now, they are going after Houston with “Black and Unwanted” billboards. Our opponents are using race-related attacks to advance their extreme agenda.

A new anti-abortion billboard campaign claims a huge racial disparity exists among abortions in Texas. One Texas city's residents have mixed feelings about the message.

NARAL Pro-Choice America Looks like good news from Illinois. The state Supreme Court is refusing to hear a case that would enforce an anti-choice parental-notification law. http://bit.ly/abSZvo Be sure to read more about why these kind of laws are dangerous for young women.

I've been seeing some negative comments here about people on welfare, and I just want to remind people to be considerate of those of us who can't afford the everyday luxuries that many Americans can. Just because I get food stamps and state-run healthcare for my daughter doesn't make me a bad or selfish person; it just... means that life is rough for us right now and we need help. Remember that, please.
I also want to point out that while my daughter was unplanned, she was certainly NOT a "miracle". I was devastated to find that I was pregnant, but I kept to it because her biological father was an abusive piece of shit. I love and adore her, of course, but this was not some devious plot to steal taxpayer money. Really, people, we're supposed to be the OPEN-minded crowd!

Dominique Sutton NARAL, Is there any official NARAL pro-choice America swag (t-shirts, buttons, magnets etc) ?

NARAL Pro-Choice America Looks like a “personhood” measure actually made it to the ballot this fall. Thankfully for NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado and friends, these measures have been swiftly defeated in the past.

A ballot measure that would bar abortions in every circumstance and even ban emergency contraception is back before Colorado voters this fall — but the campaigns for and against it are toned down from two years ago. That's because Colorado voters roundly rejected the measure to give citizenship righ...

Nicole Oudenhoven My body my choice. Period.

Alison Strieker Do pro-lifers ever think about how an unwanted pregnancy would affect a woman for the rest of her LIFE? Having to carry a child for almost a year and then give it up? Abortion should NOT be birth control, but women need to have an option when it comes to their bodies and their lives.

Nbc Editorial Whether a woman choses to go ahead with a pregnancy or not, she should be fully informed of her options. The fact that certain pregnancy crisis centers with a pro-life bias do not disclose that bias upfront, as well as list themselves under abortions services, services they don't provide seems very suspect. We at NBC B...ay Area recently did an editorial calling for full disclosure up front of any biases, pro-life or pro-choice, and the banning on any organization listed themselves under services they don't provide for women, online or otherwise. There is a law in Austin to protect women from misleading advertising, we believe there should be one in California as well. Do you agree? Ron Kolman No abortions...not even in the case of rape??? This woman needs to be medicated!

Bernadine Bennett I hate it that any woman has to go through an abortion but I don't believe she should be kept from it if it is her choice. There wouldn 't be so many abortions if women had more help with the children.
