First congratulations on your decision to join the Guard. In order to join State OCS you must have 60 credits and for Federal OCS you need 90. If possible try to avoid running on asphalt and be sure to stretch as often as possible. Let your RSP, sergeants know about your situation and see if you can do an alternate exercise. Most importantly, listen to your body when working out. If your shins start to get tight take a moment to rest and stretch.
