RolandandRita Russ

RolandandRita Russ I have a life goal to visit every National Park in the U.S. and hike at least one trail in each as long as I am physically able! So far I have only been to 10 and they are all on the East Coast, but I plan to pick up the pace! Hopefully, being 38 years old, I will have time to reach my goal.....

I grew up on the east coast and moved to california about 8 years ago. I haven't even been to all the national parks out here yet! The one's I've seen have all been gorgeous in their own unique way (Joshua Tree, Channel Islands, Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Yosemite)

Laura FYI: The senate approved the bill by Senator Tom Coburn which may allow concealed weapons into our national parks. Please urge the President to Veto the bill and continue to preserve the safety of our national parks. Send messages by linking to www.whitehouse.gov.

Thanks for the idea. I sent an email to the White House from the site you gave. I'm not against guns, but the idea of a regular joe whipping out his/her concealed weapon to save the day (just like on tv) scares me.
Courtney
Courtney
It actually depends on the laws in your state and/or locality. firearm registration is not required everywhere. VA has no such requirement.Concealed weapon carry in VA requires the individual not be a felon, not have rights revoked re: firearm ownership due to incompetancy, have a clean background check, be a US citizen, pass a firearm safety/shooting class and of course pay the fee.

National Park Foundation is thrilled to announce that we have formed a long-term partnership with Merrell outdoor footwear and apparel.
