Chris Nelson for Congress I made my annual visit to Mrs. Sutton's fourth grade class at Pierre's St. Joseph Elementary today. We visited about South Dakota history, the campaigns to determine the location of the State Capitol (with apologies to my Huron and Mitchell friends who lost that one), and the State Seal. The students were very well b...ehaved, had a solid background in SD history, and paid rapt attention. What an enjoyable group!

In fact it's $290 billion larger than it was before the House of Representatives voted today to allow the federal government to increase the debt limit and borrow more money. 39 Democrats and all Republicans said "No" on the House vote.
