I'm just a simple man, and maybe I'm alone on this, but when it comes to movies, I like movies with stories. Stories that make me care about who's ass it is and why it's farting.

I seem to remember one of the old Trilogy laserdiscs used to have a White trailer that made it look like some sort of fucking spy movie. Almost as shameless as the first-run US VHS box art for Red where they cropped Irène Jacob's iconic profile shot then airbrushed away her sweater and added somebody's bare shoulders to make it look like she's naked. Classy!

I was there last night... Never seen "White" before, but loved it! And the ending of "Red" never fails to move one deeply. (Both prints were very good, especially "White," BTW!)

I knew it would only be a matter of time before this became a midnighter, good job New Beverly! Luckily I saw it twice in the theaters when it came out, I was so shocked the first time I had to go again the next day to be sure it was for real. Forget 500 years into the future it is about NOW. CAMACHO FOR PRESIDENT!!!

After he completed "Red" (1994), the final film in his "Three Colors" trilogy, Krzy-sztof Kieslowski announced that he would retire. This was not a man weary of work. It was the retirement of a magician, ...

i respectfully disagree about blue being more lyrical. i feel the von den budenmayer (z preisner) recurring score hits one over the head a bit after the first dozen times. it does have the evocative paris location shots & lovely binoche going for it, which don't hurt. but it gets a bit ponderous (the clichy strip club) in the last reel, no? white ... Read Morehas the most chuckles, red ties it all into a pretty bow, with the most satisfying depiction of chance, coincidence, & opportunities lost .. & found, of the three (see dekalog & kk's other work for more interesting treatments of same). themes later criminally homogenized & ripped off in such fluffy dreck as 'sliding doors'.
