it's a baby, even for structures in these parts. not likely to do any significant damage to water/gas lines, or even interiors of homes, other than knocking a few things off of the walls, if that.

The News & Advance Mud clogs our streams and rivers. While state and local officials can’t pinpoint the exact sources or amount of the sediment pouring into the streams, there is little question that runoff from developments large and small is a key factor. Check out the story in our environmental investigative series, "Stuck in the Mud"... (currently day 2 of 3). http://www2.newsadvance.com/lna/site_elements/tags/tag/stuck+in+the+mud/

I just cannot believe Virginia Corrections Dept. finds this acceptable. They should all be terminated and of course without pay. Seems when they do something not admirable they get leave with pay. Wow!

The News & Advance 2010 is almost here. What do you think has been the biggest local story of the decade? The death of the Rev. Jerry Falwell? The opening of the National D-Day Memorial? Or something else entirely?

I realize this is a national story, but I think u can't over look the local effects from 911. Everyones life changed forever that day and many many changes in lifestyle happen locally. Just from working at the Lynchburg Airport, I saw changes I could have never imagine seeing in my daily life. Going from a mostly care free work place to working ... See Moreside by side with the National Guard and adjusting to seeing the military in my office in full gear including there very large guns. its a change I will never forget. I think a story that covers all the ways 911 effected our local business and people would be the story of the decade. Its the biggest story of my life so far.
