A lot of people use versamark "ink" in order to give their projects a watermarked look.
Another way to do this is to get a piece of colored card stock and stamp an image on the paper with the SAME color ink as the card stock. The image comes out as a darker shade of the actual paper.
Either can be useful, but if you are interested in switching things up a little bit you can try color on color stamping!

I wanted to share one of my favorite techniques that I use on cards and scrapbooking! It is tearing the paper. Often with cutting straight edges cards can look really stiff. The tearing technique gives cards a different look. Sometimes, like the image included, it can make the handmade card look more manly!
You can also add color to the torn area with stamp ink rubbing it right on the ink or using a sponge. Personally I often just rub the paper on the ink because I find the sponges get dirty too quickly and get ink all over my fingers.
All you have to do is take the corner of a piece of paper and tear it towards you on the side you would want facing up. It is simple and easy and adds an entirely different feeling to your card!
Generally when I mail cards out from an order I include a thank you note and I always tear the paper around all four edges. I just love this one! :-)
