A STYLISH BIKE TRIP
In preparation for our upcoming Experience from Ciclismo Classico, we sat down with our very own Josh Wilson, Rue La La Project Manager, who recently toured Tuscany with the company, to get a taste of his experience. You can read the full interview with Josh in our blog.
Rue La La: Where did you go on your bike trip?
Josh: My wife and I did the six-day Assaggio Toscana tour. The tour begins in San Donato in the Tuscan hills, then on to Arezzo, and finishes in Cortona. My wife Cory usually only bikes to our local bars and restaurants so I didn’t think she’d be up for a six-day tour, but she fell in love with the idea and insisted that we go.
Rue La La: How did you wind up choosing to tour with Ciclismo Classico? Was it something you always wanted to do, or did a concierge match you with your interests?
Josh: We’d been to the Amalfi Coast before and wanted to return to Italy to experience a different region. We weren’t in the market for a bike tour, but when the trip popped up online it looked too good to pass up.
Rue La La: What was your big takeaway?
Josh: The people and the culture. We’ve kept in touch with our tourmates and are already planning reunions in Italy and elsewhere. I learned that an organized tour doesn’t have to be overly commercial or cheesy. I knew that I’d love the riding but was worried about being stuck with smarmy guides and unpleasant tourmates. The cycling was everything that I hoped it would be, but the people made the tour.
