Rolling Stone magazine asked its readers to pick their favorite albums for an online poll. Here are the results:

 

1.       U2 – The Joshua Tree (1987)

2.       Guns N’ Roses – Appetite for Destruction (1987)

3.       Michael Jackson – Thriller (1982)

4.       Bruce Springsteen – Born in the U.S.A. (1984)

5.       Prince – Purple Rain (1984)

6.       AC/DC – Back in Black (1980)

7.       The Smiths – The Queen Is Dead (1986)

8.       The Clash – London Calling (1979) *

9.       The Cure – Disintegration (1989)

10.    Metallica – Master of Puppets (1986)

 

* This does NOT appear on the list below because it was released in December 1979 and is therefore not really an ‘80s release.
