Vista Primary Care Achieves Accreditation from International Accreditation Body
Vista Primary Care, Ireland’s leading primary healthcare campus for public and private patients, is pleased to announce that it has earned international accreditation for Vista Medical Imaging, its diagnostics imaging department, from the Joint Commission International (JCI), a worldwide leader in improving the quality of healthcare. JCI has accredited and certified more than 410 public and private healthcare organisations in over 45 countries since accrediting its first hospital in 1999.
JCI Accreditation provides assurance that the performance of healthcare organisations meets the highest international benchmarks for accreditation entities. A rigorous on-site evaluation at Vista was conducted by a team of international healthcare experts from JCI.
“Healthcare organisations around the world want to create environments that focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement,” says Paula Wilson, president and chief executive officer, JCI. “Accreditation meets this demand by stimulating continuous, systematic improvements in an organisation’s performance and the outcomes of patient care. The community should be proud that Vista Medical Imaging has made a commitment to quality and safety.”
Vista Medical Imaging is the first Primary Care based Diagnostics Imaging department in Ireland to be awarded the prestigious JCI Accreditation.
Commenting on the accreditation, Ulick McEvaddy, Chairman of Vista Primary Care said: "We sought JCI accreditation because we want to provide the best care possible to our patients. Earning accreditation from JCI is another step towards excellence. Providing high quality care is a team effort and one that gives employees a feeling of prestige to work in an accredited organisation. We achieved this accreditation because of the team effort of all partners in Vista Primary Care, our management and staff, and the consultants and healthcare professionals who provide services here, working together to plan, manage and deliver world-class services to our patients. While we anticipate HIQA Standards for Primary Care facilities in due course, this accreditation demonstrates our commitment to international best practice standards.”
