Electro-star Robyn Talks Dance Moves and Music with NOWNESS.com

Although your music is considered dance music, there is often a

melancholic feeling in the songs. Is that intentional?

Yes. I don´t know why dance music shouldn´t or couldn´t be

melancholic? I don´t even know what dance music means. To me some of

the most melancholic music I know is music i like to dance to as well.

You mean I make pop music and you´re surprised it makes you feel

something? I get that a lot.

You’re known for your original dance moves…where do they come from?

From just spending lots of time in clubs and trying stuff with the

choreographer I work with, Decida. We freestyle together all of what I

do on stage and in my videos and turn what she or I do naturally into

something that is, but usually does not feel so choreographed.

In the film you mention that each night your set is the same, but

the audience is new. How do you keep it exciting?

That´s what makes it exciting. It´s a rush to meet a new audience every

night.

How would you describe your fashion style?

I don´t know. Dressed for success?

Which designers are you into at the moment?

I have recent obsession with Prada.

Is there something that you particularly miss about Sweden when you

are touring?

My family. And the shower heads. They are good.
