Jackie’s Best Pig Ribs for the Slow Cooker
Shared by Jackie Baltrun
Serves two to three people
1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cayenne
1 rack meaty baby back pork ribs; cut into 4-rib sections
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce or A1 Sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon sea salt (optional)
The meat: Coat slow cooker with cooking spray. Combine first seven spice ingredients; rub into all sides of the rib sections. Place ribs in slow cooker, positioned vertically with boniest edge down, leaning each section against the next. Cover and cook 6 to 8 hours on low or 3 - 3 1/2 on high for ribs that are tender and falling off the bone. Adjust time down if firmer ribs are desired. Discard liquid now if too much has accumulated.
The sauce: After ribs are almost completely cooked, combine ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire, sea salt, and soy sauce; mix well. Coat ribs with sauce and cook until glazed or 30 minutes on high.
Thanks Jackie - can't wait to try your ribs!!
