While the housing slow down has been bad news for most of the country, a smaller group can benefit in a big way.  The reduction in new home starts has put a downward pressure on building material and labor costs.  Some builders report the lowest pricing in 5 years.

Reduced Labor costs and more workers available - In the current market sub contractors are hungry for their next pay check.  They are currently working for less money and doing it more efficiently.  The result for people who can start a new home now is lower hard costs, faster construction and more supervision.
