This year’s home tour will feature 10 homes in Historic Bisbee.  Most of the miner’s cabins built in the early 20th Century were one or two rooms.  Today, you can view the additions and renovations that have been made over the last one-hundred years.  Docents, some in costume, will be stationed at each home to answer your questions.  Marvel at the unique architecture and the home owners’ creativity.

Chairs for the Art Chair Auction can be viewed and bid on Saturday & Sunday during the home tour.  Chairs, painted and decorated in a variety of mediums by local artists can be seen in the Community Hall at the Historic St. John’s Episcopal Church, 19 Sowles Avenue in Bisbee.  Directions to the church are available on the home tour map.  The bidding ends at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

In conjunction with the tour, the Queen Mine Tour will be hosting the Bisbee Gem & Mineral Show on Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Here you will find an array of some of the most eye-catching gems and minerals along with the world famous Bisbee Blue Turquoise.  On Saturday, 10 a.m – 7 p.m., holiday shop on Main Street, Subway and Brewery Avenue during the Holiday Art Walk.

For the proverbial traveler, contact the Bisbee Visitor Center and talk to a Concierge who will be happy to help you plan your trip.  They will help you find accommodations, choose a restaurant and plan your itinerary.  Hop a train at the Queen Mine Tour and venture underground to see where copper was discovered, lunch at the Bisbee Grille or Santiago’s, dine at Café Roka and overnight at the Historical Copper Queen Hotel.  On Saturday morning, browse at the local Farmer’s Market, try High Desert Market & Cafe or Jimmy’s Hotdogs for a whimsical lunch and in the evening, take a stroll up Main Street for the Holiday Art Walk.  Stop in Optimo Custom Hatworks and find the Panama hat you’ve always wanted or in many of the art galleries and find that artwork that you’ve wished for.  For a nightcap, kick-back at the popular Bella Roma or Screaming Banshee Pizza.    You may want to book a room at the School House Inn Bed & Breakfast or the Calumet and Arizona Guest House for a quiet night’s sleep and wake up to the aroma of fresh-brewed coffee and an array of breakfast victuals.  You may choose the historic Bisbee Grand Hotel and relax in its famous western saloon.  Before you leave, check out the Lavender Jeep Tour and discover places you’d never knew existed in Bisbee or take a historic walking tour with local historian, Michael London.
