Chocolate Chess Pie

Jenna was looking for a chocolate chess pie recipe. I haven't published this one on my site yet, but thought I would go ahead and share it with everybody. To print you'll need to use your mouse, highlight, copy and paste into your word processing program, then send to printer. 




Chocolate Chess Pie

From the Kitchen of Deep South Dish


1-1/2 cups of granulated sugar

3 tablespoons of cocoa powder (like Hersheys)

1 (5 ounce) can of evaporated milk

1/4 cup (1/2 a stick) of butter, melted & cooled

1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract

2 large eggs, beaten

1 unbaked pie shell, homemade or Pillsbury recommended


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar and cocoa. Stir in the milk, butter, vanilla and eggs. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 350 degrees F for 40 to 45 minutes, or until set. Let cool completely before slicing.


*Use a 9-inch pie plate
