Well, while Ellen clearly understands the breakthrough that the Ovulona is, the pledge goal of $35,000 will enhance the negotiating position of the emerging technology company, as bioZhena enters into capitalization negotiations with large industry players.

The use of the revolutionary Ovulona™ is very simple, takes only a few seconds, and the Smart Sensor™ will present the interpreted result in plain English such as FERTILE DAY 1 or PREGNANCY DETECTED. Yes, the device is also an instant pregnancy detector. Importantly, too, the Ovulona will be innocuously screening cervical health in the background of the detection of reproductive status.

The first product launch will be in the large and growing market of women and couples experiencing difficulties in conceiving a baby. And it will also immediately detect the frequently occurring Early Pregnancy Loss [EPL], so that the couple can start trying again, as is medically recommended to minimize the chances of another miscarriage.

We have a portfolio of 10 patents in various stages, from fully issued through pending to ready for filing. The patents cover multi-faceted health diagnostic technologies for women at home and for their physicians. The core sensor technology was tested in both agricultural animals and in women, and a prototype of the vaginal sensor has already been FDA certified for use as an aid for achieving pregnancy.

The Ovulona is designed to utilize the rich information content in our proprietary menstrual cyclic profile. Said profile is the result of the integration of all neuroendocrinological signals that the cervix receives (from the brain as well as from the ovaries, as you may know). It provides the accuracy which is absolutely necessary and which the existing self-help products do not have (OPKs, hormone monitors) because they merely track a hormone or two in peripheral circulation (after clearance into urine, at that).

Consequently, unlike the existing commercial products, the Ovulona can distinguish the many non-fertile days of the menstrual cycle from the only 3 fertile days in which the probability of conception is high. And that is regardless of whether the given menstrual cycle is normal or affected more or less seriously by stress or other health or lifestyle conditions. This is unheard of in the industry.

We discovered the technique [called FOLLICULOGENESIS IN VIVO™ or FIV™] when we found it difficult to conceive. Eventually it was realized that our discovery goes well beyond the accurate anticipation and our unique detection of ovulation (no one else can). That is because of our way of doing the monitoring, and because much in women’s health and lifestyle revolves around folliculogenesis.

An important practical and economic consequence is that the numerous additional applications (or apps) will be simple and inexpensive to add (no hardware changes). All the planned apps are very important in women’s healthcare, such as cervical health screening, or scientific computation of expected delivery date, or management of PMS/PMDD and management of hormone therapy. Or, indeed, help for our teens with managing cramps (dysmenorrhea) and understanding their sexual health. No doubt, people will also try fetal gender pre-selection with the Ovulona, based on shared scientific evidence from clinical and other studies.
