Stanton Warriors – HiFi Club & Pk – Snatch Rockbar
Initially I didn’t intend on going but after some rubber arm twisting by my mates I was convinced I could not miss out on this epic event!
So off we went a healthy crew of 10…maybe 15 once we got there! Miche was rippin it up. Intense décor & lighting as promised by PK! one small complaint though…the speakers and lighting towers pretty much took up the entire stage view and the only location to get a decent shot of the dj was front and center!? Not to mention the DJ booth for “non headliners” was WAY at the back at the top where little to no crowd interaction could be accomplished L Bad stage set up! I mean great wall of sound, which is most important in the end!! Miche bangin’ out some sick tracks including Spend My Money which the crowd went off too! Then Neighbor takes the stage with an MC. The MC was awesome! The crowd began to swell to an enormous size, soon all you could see were thousands of heads bobbing among the fog filled room! Pretty sweet!
The crowd I had mixed emotions about. On one hand it was great to have the young new fresh blood in to experience the scene a bit more and a mix of the regular HiFi Pk hippy hulla hooping older crowd. But on the other hand the prissy stuck up barstars gave me a bad vibe. Not to mention the disastrous state of the girls washroom, violating numerous health codes made me sick.
Then the headliners came on. Stanton Warriors had released a 30 min mix previous, which was awesome, except they proceeded to play exactly what was on the demo? then there was really no build to their set, I kept anticipating the next shoe to drop but it never did. Their trancey breaks just didn’t do it for me. I went up front to get a better view of the two, and was dis ap pointed to see no enthusiasm behind the decks or crowd reaction/interaction. They were really quite boring.
So with that we left half way through their set.
Props to PK & HiFi for doin something different!

Preach & Alex Kidd –We Like it Hard Vol 1 – Fehrenheit – The Warehouse
As always, Preach throwing down a wiked set, hard trancey techno! Good crowd met lots of nice people. Alex Kidd is amazing! Of course playing hard dance/hard style. I loved his remixed tracks, I remember the hard dance version of Inspector Gadget was off the hook!
Good work overall.
Lazy Rich – Uneeke Thursdays – Sals on 17th
Wow! I'm so glad we got to see this guy. Sals was busier than average and the music was top notch electro productions by Rich himself. Very hard grindy dirty basslines kept the crowd jumping for the whole set! Very epic. Look out for this Vancouver native, will be touring with Soulfix all summer long!
