I”ll admit that I went into The Girlfriend Experience a bit skeptical, after all most movies with porn actresses are fun, campy and usually horror movies(ex: Zombie Strippers), and director Steven Soderbergh’s latest offering was anything but. I found the movie to be a realistic view of how a high end escort works, both the highs and lows. Sasha Grays performance was on point and I believe her own experience as a sex worker made her relate to her character thus creating a real person. I don’t believe just any common actress could of accomplished this. I really enjoyed watching the relationship between Christina and her boyfriend, both her are paid high amounts by the hour for both physically and emotionally draining jobs. The movie has a bit of a a melancholy mood feel at times but I completely recommend it.
