Obituary for an early member of Spirit of the Lakes
Father Thomas Patrick Agar, age 59, died May 1 in Monterey, CA. He was ordained a Roman Catholic priest for the Diocese of Monterey by Bishop Richard Garcia on March 20, 2009. He graduated with his Masters of Divinity in May, 2008, from the Franciscan School of Theology in Berkeley, CA, and was a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 25 years in both CA (DaVita, Inc.) and in MN (Dakota County). He also received a Masters in Social Work from St. Thomas University, and his undergraduate degree from st. John's University , in Collegeville, MN, and a 1968 HS graduate of his hometown, Browns Valley, MN

Fr. Tom leaves to mourn his brothers: Dennis (Peg), Richard, David (Penny), Dannel (Lynn), Rev. Tim Agar, Brian (Janet), Bob Flynn; eighteen nieces and nephews, 12 grand nieves and nephews, aunts and uncles; Delores Rose, Donna Agar, Phil and Viv O'Neill and Jean O'Neill, Ken and Helen Swanson, Bill Herber, John and Rose Perra, cousins, countless friends and loved ones. His interment at Calvary Cenetery in Browns Valley, MN was with his father Dwayne C. (Dan), his mother Agnes M. (Peg) Agar, his siter Kathleen.

A Vigil Service was held at San Carlos Cathedral on May 3 followed by a Funeral Mass of the Resurrection on May 4 officiated by Bishop Richard Garcia and concelebrated by numerous priests from the Diocese of Monterey and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. A vigil Service and Rosary was held at St. Anthony Catholic church in Browns Valley, MN on May 8 followed by a Funeral Mass of the Resurrection on May 9.
