Dear Friends,
For me, August has the bittersweet taste of the best of summer, with just a hint of the approaching fall. There is a little breeze in the air, and the kids start planning to go back to school toward the end of the month--nowadays those who play sports have to be back even earlier, for either practice or classes. You can feel the season begin to slip through your fingers as the month rolls along. But I love it anyway, those last golden days of summer.
My birthday is in August, which is always a mixed bag for me. It's a great excuse for my children to come home, or be home, but I have to get another year older (I like Mother's Day much better--I get presents and my age stays the same. Way to go!!).
I hope that you manage to take some time off this summer to relax, and even curl up under a tree, in a hammock, or on the beach with a good book!
