Canadian Sand and Proppants Inc. recently announced their expansion into Chippewa County. The company plans to build a $40 million facility on a 93-acre parcel located south of County Trunk S, near the Highway 124 and "Four Corners" intersection. In order to maximize this project’s economic development potential the Chippewa County Economic Development Corporation has been aggressively working to position local contractors, who are CCEDC investors, to be in a better position to have Canadian Sand and Proppants, Inc. as a customer. This project is currently in the engineering phase and CCEDC recently hosted a contractor information meeting where over 25 contractors received an overview of the planned venture and gave Canadian Sand and Proppants, Inc. invaluable suggestions on how to potentially improve the project.
