Rodney Fox Great White Shark Expeditions: Activity Report to August 2009

Activity Report to August 2009
What a great start to the season! For May, June and July, technically we have seen sharks on every day on location, and every trip has had at least a term of productive weather. It has been a wonderfully successful period for all onboard.

In addition to the shark reliability, we have also had a somewhat milder winter than last year, with less extreme blasts of winter and water temperatures have stayed above 16 C.

The Big Old Boys up to 5 metres long and with up to 10 years history with us, Jonny, Kalell, Moo and Bobbi, all starred yet again this season with some new friends and and a few extreme size females also stopped off on their way through to say hello.

With our crew, Captain Mulga, is taking a well deserved spell away on an extended holiday, and captains Robbie Thompson and Peter Figl, have stepped in to do a terrific job at the wheel and on the crane. Jeremy Chrichton, has also been cooking up a strom in the galley and along with "Young" Andrew Cliffe, pulling the deck ropes and getting divers in and out of the cage. Operations manager and videographer Jennifer Taylor has been filming some special moments and involving everyone in the fun. Divemasters Brigid Armstead and Zach Ransom also had extended stays with us this season to help Jen and I to keep ticking over the submersible bottom cage dives down to the sharks.

We look forward to the action and the fun to continue. Join us out there soon! Cheers Andrew
