At the end of October Calvi hosts Le Festival du Vent (Festival of the Wind) which celebrates everything to do with wind. As well as bringing together scientists and engineers interested in technology, the event attracts a wide range of artists and promises to offer something for all ages. In addition to information on environmental issues there are concerts and street theatre performances, art displays, bungee jumping, hot air ballooning and kite flying. The Festival of the Wind is an annual event, which in recent years has attracted a cult following. This year it is held in Calvi between 28th October and 1st November 2009.
