Cincinnati, Oh. – For the first time in contest history, Cincinnati-based Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS), a leading provider of restroom hygiene products and services, will present a First Runner-Up America’s Best Restroom Award to the Tremont Plaza Hotel on Tuesday, September 1 at 10:30 a.m.
“Typically, we only present an award to the first place winner, but we felt the Tremont Plaza Hotel deserved special consideration,” says Cintas Senior Marketing Manager Keith Hartman. “The restroom itself is incredible, plus the whole city of Baltimore has embraced this contest. Nearly all of the TV and radio stations, newspapers, web sites and blogs covered the story, leading to exceptional voter turnout.”
The 2009 contest attracted nominations from a wide cross-section of businesses, including restaurants, hotels and several theatres. Ten finalists were selected based on exceptional hygiene, style and open access to the public.
“This contest is meant to be fun, but there’s also an important message, which is that restroom hygiene matters - for good health and good business," said Cintas Senior Marketing Manager Keith Hartman.
Tens of thousands of votes were cast at the program’s web site, which produced the following results:
