Travel Promotion Act Passes Senate
The U.S. Senate has passed a bill establishing a nonprofit corporation to promote travel to the U.S. by foreign visitors.

The Travel Promotion Act of 2009, co-sponsored by Hawaii senators Daniel Inouye and Daniel Akaka, both Democrats, is aimed at promoting leisure, business and scholarly travel to the U.S., and is also seen as benefiting Hawaii tourism.
The measure will also help better communicate U.S. entry policies to international visitors, according to a joint press release from Inouye's office.
