All Pilgrims were once regular children who for various reasons, and by various means, came to live at the Flying Temple. These regular kids had regular lives on regular worlds in a very regular universe with very regular families. The odd thing about "regular" is that when you say it often enough, it sounds kind of like "reglar." Or maybe "blegghlar."
