Letter from Danielle Steel - October 2009
October 2009
Dear Friends,
With nine kids, as you can imagine, Halloween is a major major event at our house,
and it always has been. My kids started talking about it the minute they went back to school—not their new teachers, but about what they were going to be for Halloween!
I think we’ve seen it all—everything from pirates to Cruella de Vil, the Spice Girls, and nuns. The most creative was my daughter’s boyfriend, many years ago, who came trick or treating as her dog in a costume he had made. He even dropped plastic ants everywhere, pretending they were fleas. I have made more costumes and put more black lipstick and nail polish on kids than any human on the planet. And the kids loved making haunted houses out of their bedrooms, or mine, or the guestroom. Such happy days. My college kids still trick or treat with their nieces and nephews—it’s just an excuse to get more candy, and I drive the getaway car! October is a lot of fun!
Love,
