Richard Petty Motorsports: Reed Sorenson California Speedway Preview
Reed Sorenson California Speedway Preview
STATESVILLE, N.C.— Reed Sorenson drives the No. 43 Rosie’s® Organic Chicken Dodge for Richard Petty Motorsports this weekend at California Speedway. In seven races at the two-mile oval in Fontana, Sorenson has finished 21st four times. The 23-year old Peachtree City, Ga. native said one of the biggest challenges Sunday will be the limited chances to work on his car because the race usually goes for long stretches without a caution.
SORENSON ON FOUR 21st PLACE FINISHES— “That’s kind of a weird coincidence. I didn’t know that. I guess that is consistency. We’ve also led eight laps there. I think we will do better than 21st this weekend. It’s a tough race track. There usually aren’t a lot of cautions so you have to be right from the drop of the green flag. I think we ran almost 100 consecutive green flag laps there in February. That means you have to start up front and it doesn’t give you a whole lot of time to work on the car during pit stops so you better get it right if you want a good finish.”

Sunday marks Sorenson’s 139th Sprint Cup race. He owns five top-five and 14 top-10 career finishes. He has led 145 laps.
