1. Universal Sports will offer daily highlights of the first summer Youth Olympic Games (YOG), which are being held in Singapore beginning this week. The channel will feature daily coverage of the games beginning August 15-27 at 2p of the new youth event, which includes 26 sports, with VOD highlights available via www.universalsports.com. Athletes competing in the YOG are between the ages of 14-18. The first winter version of the YOG will be held as part of the 2012 London Olympic Games. The YOG www.olympic.org/en/contentYOG is governed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). 

 

2. CA-based TransWorld Media, a global action sports publishing company is teaming with Apparent Gravity Media (AGM) to produce its first television series titled TransWorld Sessions. Over 26 half-hour episodes, TransWorld Sessions will look at the various action sports categories such as freestyle motocross, skate, snowboarding, BMX and surfing and additionally will profile top action sports athletes. The series is targeting males 14-34 years with a planned debut this October.

 

3. Pat O'Brien, the former host of The Insider and Access Hollywood, is going back to being a sportscaster, taking a new position on Fox Sports Radio's Loose Cannons weekday afternoon show where he joins Steve Hartman and Vic "The Brick" Jacobs. O'Brien begins his new job on Monday. O'Brien's sports background includes covering the Olympics and Super Bowl as well as the NCAA Basketball Tournament on CBS Sports among other gigs.
