CountryNY: North Mississippi Allstars and Hill Country Revue

North Mississippi Allstars and Hill Country Revue
At CountryNY, we like to keep our eyes and ears open for exceptional artists, and there never seems to be a dull moment out there while searchin'. Two of the bands we've been focusing on are North Mississippi Allstars and Hill Country Revue.

The former is made up of frontman Luther Dickinson on guitar & vocals, his brother Cody Dickinson on drums and electric washboard (yup, electric), and Chris Chew doing bass & vocals. While Luther is currently touring with The Black Crowes, his brother Cody has started and is touring with Hill Country Revue, featuring fellow Allstar Chris Chew, Daniel Coburn on lead vocals, master blues guitarist Kirk Smithhart, and Ed “Hot” Cleveland on drums.

With a southern rock bent, North Mississippi Allstars also mix in a little traditional Mississippi with dixie and blues, but always a "kick a little dust on your boots" good time. Hill Country Revue is a bit more raw and dirty venturing into muddy with some blues slithered in. Both are top on the list, and worth a night on the town. Don't forget to bring all your friends and lovers. No dates as of yet in New York, but in the meantime, be sure to check out their links and a couple of videos. Both are backed by ATO Records of New York.
