The Meanwhile: We're Almost Two!
We're Almost Two!
Friends!
Happiest of the falls to you! After a very busy summer filled with bicycle rides, Oberon, beer garden nights, benefits and movies, October is here!
October will always be a month of celebration at The Meanwhile. Two years have almost passed since our grand opening night! Many of you celebrated with us then, and we're asking you to join us again. Our two-year anniversary party is scheduled for Saturday, October 17th. We'll be running ALL of our ridiculous specials from 4pm - 2am. The party officially starts at 7pm and will be catered by our beloved neighbors, Brickroad Pizza. We would love to see you there!
Huge thank you's to everyone who supported our recent benefits for Clean Water Action, Neighborhood Ventures, and ArtPeers. And another huge thank you to the organizers of ArtPeers. What a great sight it was to see crowds of people walking up and down Wealthy Street.
We are very excited to announce that The Meanwhile will now be selling select beers and wines to go! Ask your bartender for a price list next time you stop in.
Gratitude is also in order to whoever has nominated Jeff and I for community recognition. The Meanwhile Film Series (organized by Jeff) has been nominated for Best Promotion at the Neighborhood Business Awards on November 5th. I have been selected as one of the Grand Rapids Business Journal's "40 under 40" business leaders and will be featured in their November 2nd issue. So giant thank you's to our friends who submitted our names!
Speaking of the Meanwhile Film Series, here is the schedule for October:
October 6th: Labyrinth
October 13th: Suspiria
October 20th: The Howling
Friday, October 23rd: Forbidden Zone with special Guest: Director of the film: Richard Elfman as well as folks from the Super Happy Funtime Burlesque ($10)
October 27th: Dead Alive
All films take place at The Wealthy Theater, begin at 8pm and cost $5.
Mark your calendars for the Wealthy Street Business Alliance Autumn Stroll on October 15th! That evening, many businesses will have specials and treats. Come celebrate our vibrant street.
The Meanwhile is a proud sponsor of The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls! Check out their website for several upcoming events!
Finally, we've got new t-shirt designs, gift certificates for sale, free wireless, michigan's high five shirts and stickers... so many reasons for you to stop in.
Thanks everybody!
Cheers!
