On October 24, 2009, Ted Andews, author of a number of award-winning metaphysical titles, including Animal-Speak, died after an illness.

He was perhaps best known for his work with animals. Holding both state and federal permits to work with birds of prey, Ted performed wildlife rescues and aided in wildlife rehabilitation and education efforts. He wrote many columns about the various animals on his ranch and the lessons he learned from them.
