Milan defender Alessandro Nesta took a knock during the mid-week clash againt Napoli, and the former Azzurri centre-back was replaced after only eight minutes for Georgian Kakha Kaladze.

Initially it was feared that the injury-prone former Lazio player would be out for an extended period of time, but the latest tests have confirmed that he will be back within a week. The Rossoneri issued an official statement declaring that his injury is not as serious as originally feared.

The season has seen Nesta slowly coming back to hold his own, after missing a significant portion of the last two seasons through injury. There are even calls for his return to La Nazionale, but the player himself swiftly refuted those reports. His presence may have gone some way to help Marcello Lippi in South Africa 2010.
