CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies: Designing for a Sustainable World Conference
Coming in November is an event that’s a must for anyone interested in sustainable interaction, marketing, and product design. It’s the international World Usability Day, and this year’s theme is Designing for a Sustainable World. If you’re looking for a way to be involved in sustainability beyond recycling your plastics, this event is for you.
This half-day event represents a partnership between the NYC Usability Professional’s Association (NYC UPA), the Interaction Designers’ Association (IxDA), and the School of Visual Arts (SVA).

Designing for a Sustainable World will feature major thought leaders like Peter Mullan, Director of Planning for Friends of the Highline (Keynote); Debera Johnson, Academic Director of Sustainability at Pratt Institute; and leading designers from IDEO, Smart Design, Green Map System, and Frog Design. Also featured are two panels made up of entrepreneurs who have developed an array of inspiring sustainable products and services. Liz Danzico will round out the afternoon by speaking about SVA’s new Master’s program in Interaction Design.

This event is targeted towards marketers, product designers, and interaction designers who want to infuse sustainability into their initiatives in an authentic way.
