Speaker Pelosi: Your Blue Dogs are Howling

by Sarah Palin on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 4:47am ·

Like many Americans, I’m very concerned about the efforts underway to rush through the 2,000 page Pelosi health care bill this weekend. Why the rush? That’s a lot of pages to read. Why not give everyone the chance to read it and debate it?

How much will this bill cost us? It’s unclear because the figures coming out of Washington keep changing – and always in the direction of costing more, not less. The latest numbers show it will cost more than a trillion dollars over the decade, but when has a government program ever come in on or under budget?

How will we pay for it? Taxes, of course – and not just on the “rich” (you know, the people who spur the economy by buying goods and running companies that employ people), but also on just about everyone, especially small businesses – the job-creating engine of our economy. One of the points of health care reform was to help small businesses with the cost, but this bill hurts them – and right at a time when so many Americans are out of work and need the jobs that small businesses produce.

What’s in this bill? The “death panel” provision is in it. Medicare cuts are in it. Coverage of illegal immigrants is in it. And federal funding for abortion is in it. I commend the many Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats who are taking a principled stance to fight this.

I had a message for Speaker Pelosi in a speech I gave last night for the Wisconsin Right to Life – “please, please don’t break the ‘transparency promise’ by prohibiting at least a vote of your colleagues on funding abortion-on-demand.”

Speaker Pelosi has already broken many promises thus far in this “reform” exercise. She promised that this would be a bi-partisan effort, but the bill she’s pushing isn’t bi-partisan. She promised that the final version of the bill would be posted online 72 hours before it comes to a vote so that the American people could clearly see what’s in it and how we will pay for it. But she broke that promise too when she decided to rush the bill to a vote this weekend.

The speaker must be held accountable for her broken promises. Now is the time for Americans who believe in the free market and who believe that we need policies that promote job growth instead of job loss to say once and for all, “Enough!” Stand up and make your voices heard before it’s too late. Call and email your representatives and tell them to vote “no” on Pelosi’s train wreck of a health care bill, or else we will vote “no” to sending them back to Washington when we go to the polls in less than 12 months.

- Sarah Palin

PS: For an idea of the bureaucratic maze that the Pelosi bill would create, take a look at this new chart put out by the Joint Economic Committee.

So then who are they working for??

    • Sherrie Clark
Sherrie Clark:I don't think this health care bill is really about healthcare at all; passing it is about just pulling the rights we have as citizens of this country away from us one bill at a time. Until we are part of the new world order; ...(here comes the euro) remember nothing was more revealing that when the words of "spreading the wealth around" were spoken. My mother, rest her soul, always said, say what you mean and mean what you say. So what scares me is not the healthcare bill, since Congress can rewrite it but what has come on the heels of that legislation before it can be revised, if passed.See More

You know it's not about healthcare - it's about controlling the middle class.
The rich aren't going to pay for this atrocity and the poor can't pay. Who does that leave?
It would be wonderful to have a woman as president that has the testic...ular fortitude, that Mr. Obama obviously lacks in more ways than one, who can show the rest of the world the definition of fiscal responsibility.
Something we haven't seen since President Reagan.

Sharing a email I received. Worth Reading! Take a look and form your own Opinion.
      Judge David Kithil on
      Obamacare

WOW!! Lets hear it for the Judge!
... The article is in the Marble
      Falls , Texas newspaper. It
was written by our former county judge, David Kithil. He
voiced his opposition to HB 3200, and gave EXACT SPECIFICS, to
include page and paragraph in the bill on why this Health Bill is
      BAD.

I called Thomas Edwards, Editor of
the River Cities Tribune, to get legal permission to quote David
Kithil's comments. He gave me that permission, so I can
quote him. Here are excerpts from the article, giving EXACT
pages and paragraphs in the bill and why it is so bad. You
can forward this to all of your addressees. I think he hits
everything right on the head and the opposition you may
encounter cannot argue over these points:

      JUDGE KITHIL: "I have
reviewed selected sections of the bill and find it unbelievable
that our Congress, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, could come
up with a bill loaded with so many wrong-headed elements. We
do need to reform the health insurance system in America in order to
make coverage affordable and available to
everyone. But, how many of us believe our federal government
can manage a new program any better than the bankrupt
Medicare program or the underfunded Social Security program?
Both Republicans and Democrats are equally responsible for
the financial mess of those two programs.

I am opposed to HB 3200 for a
number of reasons. To start with, it is estimated that a
federal bureaucracy of more than 150,000 new employees will
be required to administer HB3200. That is an
unacceptable expansion of a government that is already too
intrusive in our lives. If we are going to hire 150,000 new
employees, let's put them to work protecting our borders, fighting
the massive drug problem and putting more law
      enforcement/firefighters out there."

NOW, here comes the good stuff:
"Other problems I have with this bill include:

      Page 50/section 152:
The bill will provide insurance to all non-U.S. residents,
even if they are here illegally.

      Page 58 and
59: The government will have real-time access to an
individual's bank account and will have the authority to make
electronic fund transfers from those accounts.

      Page 65/section 164: The
plan will be subsidized (by the government) for all union members,
union retirees and for community organizations (such as
the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now -
      ACORN).

      Page 203/line 14-15: The tax
imposed under this section will not be treated as a tax.
(How could anybody in their right mind come up with that?)

      Page 241 and 253:
Doctors will all be paid the same regardless of specialty,
and the government will set all doctors' fees.

      Page 272. section 1145: Cancer
hospital will ration care according to the patient's age.

Page 317 and 321: The government
will impose a prohibition on hospital expansion; however,
communities may petition for an exception.

      Page 425, line 4-12: The
      government mandates advance-care planning consultations.
Those on Social Security will be required to attend an
"end-of-life planning" seminar every five years.

      Page 429, line 13-25:
The government will specify which doctors can write an
      end-of-life order."

      HAD ENOUGH???? Judge Kithil
then goes on: " Finally, it is specifically stated
this bill will not apply to
members of Congress. Members of Congress are
      already exempt from the
Social Security system and have a well-funded private plan that
covers their retirement needs. If they were on our Social
Security plan, I believe they would find a very quick "fix" to
make the plan financially sound for the future."

      Honorable David Kithil
      Marble Falls ,
      Texas

All of the above should give
you all the point blank ammo you need to support your opposition
to Obamacare. Please send this info on to all your email
      addressees.........

I remain very distressed with the direction of healthcare "reform". We
do need health insurance reform to enable affordable, available
healthcare for all citizens - however there are elements in this bill
that are simply outrageous. Th...e government in general (republican or
democrat) has demonstrated a dismal lack of success in manageing the
Medicare program, Social Security funding, the postal service and
schools. Now we're going to hire 150,000 government employees to
      administer our healthcare?

Americans would be much better served if we invested that money in good
teachers, higher education standards, more doctors, nurses and law
enforcement. This is Nancy Pelosi's baby......but you won't see her or
any of her cronies giving up their preferential treatment for what they
are proposing for the populace. This seems like a "class system" -
with Policiticans being in a higher class or "cast" than the people who
elected them, pay the taxes to support them, etc. Good leaders serve
the people - not the other way around.
