Crosstalk America: Big Brother: FCC Wants to Control the Internet?

Big Brother: FCC Wants to Control the Internet?
Jesse Benton is the Senior Vice President of the Campaign for Liberty, an organization dedicated to promoting and defending the principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, and free markets through educational and political activity. FCC regulators have voted in favor of what's known as network neutrality regulation. The idea behind the move is to prevent internet service providers from restricting content to the users. Jesse gave two examples that exemplify both sides of the issue. He cited Verizon, a company that is against network neutrality. They say that they've built the networks necessary to deliver the internet to consumers. Google, on the other hand, is in favor of network neutrality because they don't want Verizon to be able to decide at what speeds different traffic will be allowed. Is the embracing of network neutrality merely another open door to more government intrusion? Decide for yourself as you listen to Vic, Jesse and a host of callers from around the nation on this edition of Crosstalk.
