DDS Alum Showcasing Karaoke Skills on Oprah 11/5!
Dr. Matthew Hashimoto (Class of 2008 DDS) to Sing on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” this Thursday, Nov. 5!
Many of you have heard Dr. Matthew Hashimoto’s skills in front of the microphone at past school events such as Asilomar. Now millions will hear his talent as he sings on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” this Thursday, Nov. 5 (broadcast locally on ABC Ch. 7 at 4pm PST). He was selected as one of eight semifinalists chosen from more than 7,000 submissions to sing in “Oprah’s Karaoke Challenge.” Footage of BeBe Winans surprising him in a dental operatory to announce his selection was shown on Oprah last Friday, Oct. 30.
Dr. Hashimoto, a 2008 DDS graduate from the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, is currently in a periodontics residency program at Columbia University in New York City. He is in Chicago this week in rehearsal getting ready to be on Thursday’s show.
We are finding out whether there is public online voting and, if so, will share the news about how you can root for him. He’ll be singing “Sunday Morning” from Maroon 5.
