Now Hiring - Substitute Teachers
The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking EEC-qualified educators to substitute in School Age and Infant, Toddler, Preschool programs throughout the YMCA of Greater Boston.
Qualified educators will be placed on an on-call, Association-wide substitute list with potential opportunity for permanent placement. Hourly wages will be based on experience and education.
Job Summary:
- Substitutes for teachers when necessary.
- Under the direction of program leadership, the educator implements classroom curriculum and maintains for participants a safe, healthy, engaging, and attractive environment.
- Provides for children’s growth in skills, self-awareness, and character development through age-appropriate, directed activities.
- Conducts him/herself in a caring, responsible, honest, and respectful manner and is a role model for children and adults.
Required skills and qualifications for this position are:
1. Minimum EEC requirements connected to the respective position for which substituting
2. EEC certification (infant, toddler, preschool) or school age qualifications for group leader
4. Skills in engaging parents, conflict resolution, and group process (being a team member)
5. Commitment to the philosophy and goals of the YMCA of Greater Boston.
