Uptown Swing Dance this Saturday; New Class Sessions; Skye & Naomi Workshop Weekend; Other Events
Join us this Saturday, October 17 for our monthly Uptown Swing dance featuring the Mike DiBari Swingtet. We always have a good night with Mike in the lead and these guys really know how to swing!

There are a couple of extras for this month. We will be dancing the "Keep Punchin" Big Apple during the first band break. Everyone who knows it is welcome to join in. Also, this Saturday will be the last local dance for Julie Nordstrom before moving to Denver later this month. Please come out to wish her well.

Uptown Swing is a friendly dance and beginners are very welcome. You do not need to come with a partner. Brookline Tai Chi is a great venue with a smooth wood floor, air conditioning, and a convenient location on Beacon Street in Brookline. For those taking the T, it is directly across from the Washington Square stop on the Green Line. Street parking is free after 6:00pm. You can find all of the details on our website:

New Session Lindy Hop/Swing and Balboa Classes

Our next 6 week session of classes will be starting on Sunday, October 25. Classes include Beginner Swing/Intro to Lindy Hop Level 1 and Lindy Hop Level 2. Also this session will be a new Intermediate Balboa class which will be continuing from the Beginner Balboa class in the current session. It will be appropriate for anyone who has previously learned Balboa basics.

For those wanting to try something new to add to your repertoire, we will be teaching a Collegiate Shag class. Collegiate Shag originated in the '20s and is an energetic dance often done to uptempo music. It is fun and flashy and can be mixed in with Lindy Hop. It has been quite a while since we offered a Shag class and it seems about time to bring it back:-)

All classes are held at the Lower Falls Community Center in Newton Lower Falls. Full information, on-line registration and directions are available at:

Hip Hop Classes

If you have been wanting to learn cool moves, work on your solo dancing and have fun, Hip Hop classes are a great way to do that. The next 3 week session with David Liberge will be starting Sunday, October 25 in Cambridge and Thursday, October 29 in Providence. Each 3 week session is different, appropriate for all levels, and no prior experience is needed. These are adult classes but teens are welcome to attend.

Skye and Naomi are highly sought out instructors and it will be great to have them back here in the Boston area. There is a variety of classes to choose from with great stuff for all levels! It is going to be an awesome weekend and we are expecting a good turnout. Space is limited for the classes.

Please note that there are 2 locations for the classes. Friday and Sunday will be taking place in Newton Lower Falls and Saturday will be in Brookline (workshops and dance).
