NAFSA Association of International Educators: Is Your State Celebrating International Education Week?
Governor Jodi Rell of my home state of Connecticut is honoring International Education Week, is your Governor doing the same?
This year marks the tenth annual International Education Week (IEW), sponsored by the U.S. Departments of State and Education. From November 16-20, college campuses around the country will offer activities and events to showcase how international education advances learning and scholarship, builds understanding and respect among different peoples, and enhances constructive leadership in the global community.
In addition to planned events on college campuses, Governors around the country are issuing proclamations in honor of IEW. Want see your state’s proclamation? Check out the list on the NAFSA Web site.
NAFSA has been working at the state and grassroots levels to secure proclamations from all 50 states. If your state hasn’t issued a proclamation, why don’t you give your Governor a call, and ask that he or she issue one? Check out the list below – if your state is highlighted, that means we haven’t received a proclamation from your state yet. Click the link to find out how you can contact your governor.
