Say hello to the new Olympus E-P2.
The E-P2 will be released a mere six months after the first Olympus micro 4/3rds: the E-P1. The E-P2 improves on the functionality of the E-P1 in a variety of ways:
- An optional electronic viewfinder can be added to the camera when the LCD is hard to see
- An optional external microphone can be added for better video sound capture
- The autofocus system now has a continuous mode (to track moving subjects)
- You have full manual control of the shutter and aperture settings in movie mode
- You can control the camera with a TV remote when its connect to a TV using an HDMI cable
And - of course - it still includes all the features of the E-P1 like built-in image stabilization, dust control and art filters that can alter the look of your images without the need for a computer.
The E-P2 will be available in December 2009 for an estimated retail price of $1,100 USD with either a 14-42mm zoom lens or a fixed 17mm lens.
