Local food for Local Tastes: Launch of the West End Food Co-op's Bond Campaign
Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen Street West
7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
free admission
This event will feature good music, local food, old and new friends and lots of news and information about Ontario's newest food co-operative, the West End Food Co-op. WEFC is one of the only multi-stakeholder co-ops in Ontario, and one of the few non-profit co-ops. We are planning to open a store by 2011 in the heart of Toronto's west end, offering food as local as possible, community food programming and a place to change the food system in our own backyards. We welcome members from all of our stakeholder groups: producers, workers, eaters and our community partners. We have big plans: a warm space, great food as local as possible, community cooking, processing and working. Come join us to hear more about how we are making this exciting vision become reality! We'll report on our projects to date and explain our bond campaign and how you can help support or become a member of the West End Food Co-op.
