Barrington Area Library: Teen Read Week: Oct. 18-24

Teen Read Week: Oct. 18-24
Celebrate Teen Read Week and add to the library's exquisite corpse!

Sound gruesome? It's really not. An exquisite corpse is a story written by multiple authors. The library has come up with the first line for an end of the world story and we want Teens and Young Adults to write where the story will go! If you're in grades 9-12, you'll see the exquisite corpse book in the YA area and if you're in grades 6-8, the exquisite corpse book will be in the Teen area. After you've added to the story (either writing or drawings) stop at the Popular Materials Desk in Adults Services or the Reference Desk in Youth Services for a "thank you" for participating. From now until October 17 there are color changing pencils and starting October 18 (Teen Read Week!) we'll have astronaut food to give away. Quantities are limited so hurry in to add to the story. Watch for both versions--the story written by Teens and the story written by YAs--to be posted at a later date.

Love the idea of group writing? You can also be one of many to help Neil Gaiman, author of The Graveyard Book, write his next audiobook. Read the details here.
