CBS 5 - KPHO: Super Bowl Bound Again? [Eric Sperling]
Could the Cardinals be headed back to the Super Bowl? After an impressive win over the Giants in New York, the Cardinals proved they can beat the NFC’s best on the road. Okay, the Cardinals are going to win the NFC West. Looking at the rest of their schedule, I’ll say they finish the regular season at 10 and 6 and repeat as division champs. That means they get to host a playoff game. And right now it looks like the Atlanta Falcons are poised to be a wild card once again behind the New Orleans Saints. Let’s say the Falcons come here again in January,Cards win that game and head to New Orleans for a meeting with the Saints. If they can produce some more post-season magic and beat the Saints, they’ll likely be destined for a rematch with the Giants or a meeting with the Minnesota Vikings. We’ve already seen the Cards beat the Giants on the road and we’ll just have to wait and see how well Brett Favreperforms that late in the season. Bottom line, the Cardinals are starting to look like the defending NFC Champs and if Beanie Wells gets cookin’, they might be even better. Look out for Ken Whisenhunt’s bunch in January.
