MA SADD Programming and Funding Opportunities! 10/14/09
MA SADD is pleased to announce new programming and funding opportunities for the 09-10 school year! All MA schools and community groups are eligible and encouraged to apply! Questions? Contact us at masadd@sadd.org!
Got Money? Get a SADD Minigrant to Support New Programming!
SADD is thrilled to announce the availability of minigrant funding for the 09-10 school year. Chapters will receive up to $600 to address the following key issues: underage drinking, safety belt use, and distracted driving (see descriptions below). Interested? Please fill out the attached application form and fax (508.481.5759) or send to esocha@sadd.org today!
Ø Seatbelt Campaign
Belt usage is still a major concern in Massachusetts. Chapters will have the option to use their minigrant funds to focus on increasing belt rates at their school and in their community. (*Chapters may use minigrant funding to help support their participation in BIO!)
Ø Distracted Driving Campaign
Distracted driving (including texting while driving, driving while drowsy, and speeding) is becoming more prevalent among both youth and adults. Chapters will have the option to use their minigrant funds to promote a distracted driving campaign in their school and community.
Ø Underage Drinking & Impaired Driving Campaign
Underage drinking is an issue that affects not only youth but also parents, community leaders, and school officials. Chapters will be required to use a portion of their minigrant funds to purchase and utilize a useful program kit developed by SADD that will help their school create a communitywide campaign engaging youth, parents, and school administrators to reduce underage drinking in their community. Remaining funds may be used to support this initiative or other programming activities that aim to prevent underage drinking and impaired driving.
