KPMG South Africa: KPMG Alumni Event in London (3 June 2008)
KPMG Alumni Event in London (3 June 2008)
A note from Richard Warren-Tangney, Partner Recruitment and Global Opportunities:
"Last night’s event in London was, to put it mildly, a rip-roaring success!
We had, at the end of the day, more than 100 people join Bryan Leith and I at the Vivat Bacchus in The City. The restaurant is South African owned (by the prior owner of Brown’s in Rivonia), which allowed us to serve biltong and droe wors, as well as South African wines.
We targeted essentially three communities to join us for the evening:
• KPMG SA Alumni working for KPMG in the UK
• KPMG SA Alumni working in, and around, London (but not for KPMG)
• South Africans working for KPMG in the UK, who are not necessarily KPMG SA Alumni.
We showed a Moses introductory video, followed by Bryan (initially standing on a wine-box, but followed by him standing on a chair!) chatting about KPMG in South Africa, the country as well as the challenges and opportunities.
The coffee-table picture book on South Africa was extremely well received, and will certainly pull on the heart-strings of many people and their families being so far from home.
Thank you to all the KPMG South Africa Alumni who took the time to join us at the event and we hope to keep in contact with you in future"
