I am currently with at&t, but was debating about switching to verizon, but I think I will stay with at&t. They all have their ways of getting in your pocket. I wonder what at&t has up their sleeve? I know with at&t, if you get a pda cell phone after Sept. 5, 2009, you have to have a $30.00 data plan for 2 years or you get penalized $175.00 early termination fee. I think that is a crock too. You should be able to have any cell phone you want without a data plan if that is what you choose.

Not really sure what the problem is. If you can't stick with a company for 2 years...jeez. Been with Verizon for over 12 years now...never had an issue. Haven't had a dropped call in over 5 years, literally. This includes places like the middle of nowhere in Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, etc. Not just big cities. As far as the data plan goes, they... See More and other companies had way too many people running up $1000+ bills and then walking away. You don't want to pay it, go prepay or don't get a smartphone. There is a choice after all...such as T-Mobile where they zap your data or leave you with no service. That sounds like the company I want to go to.

That's pretty bogus. I have an "advanced phone" thru Verizon now. The coverage area is the best in my area but raising the termination fee will be a bad move. I already don't like how they try to push the data plan on you if you have an "advanced device". I personally don't have the data plan because I don't think it's worth 60 extra bucks a ... See Moremonth. My phone has build in Wifi so that works good enough for me. I don't think uping the termination fee is fare fore people like me who got around having to get the data plan. It doesn't surprise me though. Verizon is a money hungry company, I know, I used to work for em.

I have sprint and coverage is terrible and won't leave because of the termination fee. I think i am going prepaid now, with all the options i have. I heard you can take your phone with you and have it unlocked to work with any network. This way i do not have to buy a new phone and hope the rebate center is nice enough to give it to me.

If you unlock your phone it is not going to work right trust me i know data wont work and you may not get pic messages
