Jamie Warren: Back from Guyana....
Back from Guyana....
O'kay..so I got back from Guyana, and I've spent as much time as I could at the beach and away from the keyboard (blogging), I play the piano all the time. I'm tanned and refreshed, I hope you are as well.
I had a great gig at Carleton Place. The sun came out when I went on stage, and yes I took credit for the weather change..
I guess I missed tons of rain when I was away. Now, believe me it rained in Guyana as well, and man it was hot. You'll be able to see how mosquito bitten, tired, and slightly smelly I am in photos now posted. That was the last night when I gave the guitar from Gibson to the kids of Holy Rosary. I was saving my one clean shirt for the plane ride home. They were happy and surprised. The two guys in the photos are" little" Paul and Bruce. Bruce is a very talented drummer.
The trip was amazing. I met some wonderful people. I sang at and was part of two "too cool" bonfires. I heard some amazing African spiritual folk songs that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Singing at those two fires were the highlight of my trip. Now the "Canada's Wonderland" river boat ride in the interior was pretty cool too!
I also had a chance to get to know, and spend a lot of time with an amazing woman. I will always have a sweet smile when I recall Guyana.
I'm getting ready for my home town gig in Hanover on the 14th..I'm playing with my old friends Emerson Drive..I knew them when they were 12 Guage. I'm very proud of the success they've achieved! And I'm singing at the Barrie Speedway (cars not horses) on the 16th..that's a new gig.
That's about it for now..oh, Josh and I are looking for a house, and Katy is ready for college in Barrie. I hope you enjoy your summer..
see you soon..take care..Jamie..
ps Terry Odette and I are shooting a u-tube video for "One Real Kiss" and we're gonna' use Guyana footage I shot on the trip..so look for that the end of August or beginning of September .
pps I have just added my profile to CMT... I would be very proud to have you as a fan! Here's the address: http://www.cmt.ca/Music/Ar tistProfile.aspx?mem_id=22 347
